Hey Reader, we have a special BONUS recipe for #glutenfree whole grains month....Have you tried oat milk yet? It’s been EVERYWHERE lately! Naturally, our team had to jump on the bandwagon and give it a try. All we can say is that we totally get the hype! Smooth, creamy, gluten-free, nut-free, and completely delicious oat milk has a lot to love.
However, what we don’t always love is the price tag and added ingredients included in the versions you’ll find in the store. So, we teamed up with Further Food to create our own DIY version with an extra bonus! It’s:
Of course, all oat milk is made with oats. Yet, most store-bought versions also contain added sweeteners, fillers, and preservatives that aren’t always the most nutritious or allergy-friendly.
So, we took the standard recipe and made it as simple as we possibly could using just two ingredients! Then, we gave it a boost of protein thanks to the use of Further Food collagen and even added flavor options for the tastiest plant-based milk you’ll ever taste! Find the full recipe HERE!

Collagen is a type of protein found in humans and animals and is naturally found in our skin, connective tissue, tendons, bones, and cartilage. It helps provide structure to our tissues and plays a role in many cellular processes including tissue repair, immune response, and cellular communication.
Although collagen is naturally found in our bodies, its stores can be depleted by environmental factors like UV light exposure, tobacco use, excessive sugar intake, and even aging. Therefore, supplementing it in your diet isn’t a bad idea! Benefits include:
As mentioned, we experimented with several different flavor options for our oat milk recipe, and they all turned out delicious! If you want to use whole foods, try blending fruit or nut/seed butter into your strained milk.
Or, to reap the added benefits of collagen and add more protein to your diet, try out all our favorite collagen flavors! Thanks to our friends at Further Food, we’ve got lots of options to choose from including:
….We’ve even got a vegan option, too!
Of course, you can simply drink oat milk as you would regular dairy milk, but why stop there?! Honestly, the ways to use it are endless! Some of our favorites include:
Basically, any way you would use regular milk, you can swap it for oat milk instead!
